In an effort to protect our patients and our caregivers and as a proactive measure to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we are restricting visitors.

NO VISITORS, with few exceptions, will be allowed in the hospital and outpatient care areas until further notice.

We understand that family is an important part of the patient’s healing process and we highly encourage ongoing communication between family and patient by phone calls. Our care teams will communicate regularly with families to keep them up-to-date on the care of their loved ones.

Hospital Visitor Restrictions:

  • NO VISITORS are permitted on all inpatient units
  • Exception: For critically ill/end-of-life patients, visitation will be guided by the patient’s care team
  • Inpatient rehabilitation exception: One visitor at a time by scheduled invitation
  • Vitas exception: End-of-life visitation will be guided by the patient’s care team
  • Obstetrics (OB): The laboring mother may have one support person age 18 or older, and midwife/doula that remains the same through labor/delivery and post-delivery

Outpatient Visitor Restrictions:

  • Emergency department: Visitors are restricted at this time. For pediatric patients or adult patients with cognitive or developmental disabilities one support person age 18 or older may stay with the patient during the Emergency Room visit. At the guidance of the patient’s care team, the support person may be asked to wait in the waiting room.
  • Outpatient surgery patients: Visitors are restricted at this time. One support person age 18 or older may drop off and pick up ambulatory surgery patients at the designated area.
  • Outpatient clinics: One support person age 18 or older may accompany the pediatric patient.
  • Outpatient radiology, laboratory, cancer center, breast center: Visitors are restricted at this time.

Patients with cognitive or developmental disabilities: One support Person age 18 or older may accompany the patient for outpatient services or during an inpatient admission.

Visitors permitted under the above exceptions will be screened for COVID-19 exposure based on established Centers for Disease Control guidelines. If exhibiting symptoms, visitation will not be allowed.

Our priority is to provide the safest possible environment for patients and our team members.

We understand this change may cause a significant hardship for both patients and families. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
