Insight Chicago believes that diversity in employment, education, and the provision of healthcare is the key to positively impacting healthcare and education at large. The EM program faculty and residents are encouraged to be part of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion series, in an effort to foster the recruitment, retention, and promotion of underrepresented groups in medicine including persons of color, LGBTQIA, individuals facing hardship, and other disadvantaged groups. This series targets a multi-pronged approach:
Program diversity is crucial to training Emergency Medicine physicians, and it is imperative to healthcare in general. The IHMCC Emergency Department is comprised of a diverse body of faculty representing the spectrum of gender, ethnicity, age, religion, expertise, and background.
IHMCC supports diversity in the hope of encouraging physician satisfaction and wellbeing. The Medical Executive Committee at IHMCC has formed a Physician Diversity and Well-being Committee tasked with the goal of establishing Continuing Medical Education (CME) on recognizing the importance of diversity and wellness. In addition, the Medical Staff hosts programs on professionalism, recognition of our biases and will participate in Physician feedback symposiums. These programs provide the medical staff with tools for self-reflection and to how their colleagues perceive circumstances and situations differently.

Welcome to the Insight Chicago Emergency Medicine residency program. We are thrilled to share our program with you. At Insight Chicago, you will receive excellence in training and Emergency Medicine with a group of faculty who are eager and committed to teach.
At Insight Emergency Medicine, we recognize the importance of a strong foundation as you begin your journey in residency. Our comprehensive one-week orientation marks the start of the PGY-1 year, designed to ensure you feel prepared, supported, and confident as you step into your role in the emergency department.
Orientation Week is more than an introduction; it’s the first step in shaping your success and creating lasting bonds that will define your residency experience.
PGY 1 Rotations:
Patient care, medical knowledge, Practice based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills and Professionalism.
At this time we are in the process of developing specialty tracks.
During residency, you will work one on one with an attending EM physician. The ER is staffed 24 hours with board-certified/eligible Emergency Medicine physicians.
Being ready to care for a sick child is incredibly important as an emergency physician. Our residency seeks to achieve excellence and pediatric training by incorporating both longitude ER rotations, as well as dedicated pediatric rotations. With training at University of Chicago’s Comer Children’s hospital and some of the leading pediatrics centers you will be well trained with the numbers and acuity of pediatrics patients during your residency.
Stay tuned…
At this time Insight Chicago does not have EM Fellowships. We build relationships with other programs to get residents exposure and training experience in order to match residents into fellowships of their choice.

Bio:
Born and raised in Kathmandu, a vibrant city teeming with travelers from around the world, I developed a passion for travel and trekking as a child. As I grew older and fell in love with medicine, my life became a dynamic balance of adventure and healing. It’s no wonder I was drawn to emergency medicine, where every shift feels like an adventure in itself.
My medical journey began volunteering with earthquake victims in Nepal and concluded in the midst of the pandemic. Faced with a choice, to shy away from emergency medicine or dive in headfirst, I chose the latter. After graduation, I worked as a junior doctor across Nepal: from a bustling urban ER to the remote Himalayas, including the world’s highest emergency room at Everest Base Camp. The mountains taught me resourcefulness; the ER taught me urgency. Together, they forged me into an emergency physician who believes every heartbeat matters, whether beneath hospital fluorescents or the starlight of the Khumbu Glacier.
Clinical Interests:
My clinical passion extends beyond hospital walls to the frontlines where care begins. Whether delivering preventive education or urgent interventions in austere environments, I’m drawn to wilderness medicine, EMS, and disaster medicine.

I am from Vizag, a beautiful beach city in India, and perhaps because I have lived there my whole life, I have developed a strong desire to explore new places, meet new people, and understand different perspectives.
